okay— I’ve been thinking and thinking and thinking about that! Very interesting- and just for a side experiment I am goint to tell myself aloud that I am going to eat salad, I am going to eat salad and stop thinking Im going to.
I never thought about that point of view and it hasnt left my thoughts since you posted it- even brought it up with others and it just silenced everyone into thought – including me. Thanks for sharing this- I’m still studying the power of Words, the study , for me, hasn’t ended! Add it along with faith, Fear of the Lord, and persistance – and there is Power!!!! Thanks again,
Lisa 🙂
I am sure you know this verse. I am just adding it to this discourse.
So faith comes from hearing the message, and the message that is heard is what Christ spoke.
(Rom 10:17)
We speak the Word to build up our faith. The spoken word is also the Christian’s only offensive weapon. We speak the Word of God to defeat the enemy.
A Stronghold is built one stone at a time. This is something that the Lord showed me a while ago. A stone is a lie spoken to you by the enemy, a person, or yourself that goes unchallenged by the word of God. As for me, when I get something said to me that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, I speak the word of God and counter the lie. To remain silent is to allow the enemy to be able to build a stronghold for himself to reside. Then even the word of God becomes tainted because you are viewing it from behind the stronghold.
Devine Providence, that’s all I could say when I read that. You are not going to believe this, but at the time you commented, someone (my daughter) had lied to me and I had decided to “remain silent” and see what happens – then I got your comment, and took care of business. Thank you, and I love what the Lord showed you about Strongholds, it completely makes sense. I saw, in a vision, the end result of stongholds – a pair of demonic hands tightly gripping each outflow to the heart with the full intention of breaking this vine/branch so the person would no longer be connected to the Lord. Thank you for this verse and this warning. Blessings, Lisa

When you think about it, God had the ability to “think” all of His creation into existence. He chose, however, to speak it into existence. Since we are created in His image and in His likeness, our words definitely have power. Which is why the Lord said that we shall be judged by them.
