I heard the Schemes of the Enemy planning their daily traps : 1 Spiritual attack

Psalm 31:13 For I hear the whispering of many— terror on every side!— as they scheme together against me, as they plot to take my life.

The other day  as I was waking up, I could sense something going on. It was early morning, still a little dark outside and I was coming out of a deep sleep. There were beings , spirits most likely, they were behind me and discussing me. They didn’t think I was awake and didn’t know I could hear and sense them. They were discussing how they were going to try to get me off track today. I heard one talk about temptations and addictions to things to get me sidetracked and together they were scheming a day of attacks on me. It was very short that my senses could discern this, but I perceived it immediately. Their intention was both to keep me from doing what God wanted me to do and to sidetrack me with temptations in my day like food, laziness, idleness, wrong thoughts , stop my prayer time, social media and unproductiveness. I could hear part of their plan, their demonic agenda.

This photo is almost exactly what was going on. It was dark, I could perceive that there were a few but could not make out their shapes as they plotted their day against me.

I know I am untouchable in Christ,  they can’t touch me because I belong to Him. I am sealed with His Spirit and I know God’s promises, He never leaves me. This is not to scare you, but to remind you that every word in the bible is true. We should take every word, warning and instruction very seriously and be wise to the schemes set up against us. In times like this  I remind myself of the unshakable tree in Jeremiah, but to be honest, I was mad. I wanted to fight, but my fighting in the day would prove to be harder than I thought,  fighting off the things I know were strategically  placed before me to distract, tempt me and pull me from God.   I’ve seen lying spirits come out of someone’s mouth, and other things of this sort but this is the first time I have heard multiple ones scheming in my life preparing, in the darkness of the morning, to set traps throughout my day. I think there were between 5-7 of them discussing the day.

This scheme immediately reminded me of the Prophet Balaam. He couldn’t touch or curse the Israelites so he found a way to entice them, tempting them so they would fall in their own trap. He used sexual temptation by causing the Israelite men to intermarry which caused their downfall and it angered God.

I wanted to share this to those who feel like they may have fallen away, perhaps your prayer life has diminished, you may struggle with faith or addictions or sin – these are demonic strategies to pull you from God. In a vision years ago, I saw how they try to get a stronghold on your life to destroy you. More of that can be found at spiritual strongholds. The bible tells us about these schemes with instructions to escape

Here’s a sample of the agenda set out with traps and snares, and its set daily

Agenda, long term and short term agenda : undermine your faith, cut off communication with God, Kill every ounce of joy,  keep you extremely busy, keep you feeling guilty , ashamed and unworthy, lock you in a cage of lies and hopelessness, make you feel hopeless, divide your home, destroy relationships, target the mind, isolate you, put seeds of doubt in your mind hoping it plants in your heart,  slowly erode your joy, your purposes and your obedience filling your mind with excuses and imaginations, cause you to be overly consumed with worry, money, material things, pull you far from God, put out the fire of the Holy Spirit in you, and hopefully cut you off from God

Morning scheme

  • Distract distract distract, tell the believer they can find time to read the bible and do their devotions later ( but they’ll never have time later) Keep them busy with to do lists, apps, calls emails, test messages, social media, cleaning, scrolling, work, flooding mind with possible problems, break communication with God, flood with noise, tv, phones, music, no time to reflect
  • Whisper lies: God doesn’t hear your prayer, you are too far from Him. You’ll never be able to break free from your sins, your not capable of changing. Plant seeds of condemnation. You can work on your spiritual life later, you can pray for your lost love ones later or never, I mean God already knows so you don’t need to ask him for help or pray for them
  • Create problems and worries: remind them of a family member, friend or coworker you did you wrong or for sure you know they did you wrong. Get frustrated, worry about your anxiety, do you need meds? Create irritation and bitterness ruining any chance of peace. Blood pressure is up, magnify offenses,

Midday Schemes:

  • Compare you to others, family , friends, coworkers and social media. Everyone else has so much and looks so much better. You are so old. Others are joyful, and closer to God than you. You’ll never be close to God like other people. Make them miserable, discontent, unhappy and remind them they’ll never have enough, compare all they have with others
  • Keeping you Busy – still no time to pray or read your bible, you can do it later. No time to reflect or ask God about your plans. Feel like your bible time is a chore.
  • Dissolve family connections, use criticism, comparison, distance, replace quality time with screens and silence.
  • Remind them they don’t need to exercise, they can do that tomorrow. Destroy body mind and soul
  • Question everything. Have them listen to social media that contradicts scripture, different teachers that are wolves but seem right. Have them question Is this real? Is there a God? Am I being fooled? Twist their core values making whats right wrong and vice versa. Remind them that since they are a Christian they are better than others, remind them that they are perfect and don’t need to repent about anything, make them think that whatever comes to their mind or what they think or reason is right is right without checking with God or his word. Let them go and live by their own imaginations reasoning the sins of the world into what is right in their own eyes.

Early Evening Scheme

  • Use Fatigue : wear them out. Make them feel emotionally or physically drained. Make them question and worry about their health. Overdose on caffeine, forget that God is their refuge, their strength and their high tower. Run to food, gossip and griping.
  • Erode Relationships No one really cares , stir up old offenses
  • Distract – make sure they don’t go to the bible remind them how tired they are, they can start again tomorrow, go on the phone, tell them they need a break. Stop them from praying and bible study. Cause distractions in the family and chaos.
  • Keep snacking, what’s one more pint of ice cream followed by a few bags of chips

Nighttime scheme

  • Remind them they did it again, another day with no self control, another day you couldn’t do it. God won’t listen to you know, besides, you’re too tired to pray
  • Escape and Numb their mind will endless mindless activities wrapped in Netflix, movies, documentaries, social media, endless scrolling, food, snacking, alcohol, drugs anything to avoid stillness or conviction
  • Stir them up with anxiety, worry , problems, fear, regrets. Prevent sleep making tomorrows spiritual resistance even lower.
  • Long term strategy: Normalize dry or non existent prayer life
  • Fill with doubt regret shame and guilt
  • Make sin look like comfort and holiness look like a burden

War is on, time for counterattack – start night before with a plan to wake up early with time to read your bible or devotion and time to pray

Morning: Submit to God, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7

Before reaching for your phone or schedule stop and pray. Tell God what you need. Thank Him for all He has done for you. ” Today is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it”

Declare: I will walk in step with the Spirit of God today.

Armor up: Each day, I pray and  put on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6: 10 – 18. I put on the belt of truth by choosing to believe what God says, not just my feelings. I wear the breastplate of righteousness, knowing I am covered by God’s righteousness and committed to living a righteous life on a path he has planned for me. I put on the shoes of peace, deciding not to fight or argue with others, but to be slow to anger and quick to listen and forgive. Wherever I go, I want to carry peace with me. I take up the shield of faith to block every lie that says I am not enough, and I stand against anything that goes against the truth of Jesus Christ. I put on the helmet of salvation, which is my hope, and I guard my mind with God’s truth. Finally, I use the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, as my weapon

-I will believe God’s promises, not my feelings
-I am hidden in Christ
-I will block every lie that says I am not enough
-My mind is guarded by His truth
-His Spirit guides me and comforts me
-Your Word is my weapon

Make reading the bible part of my every day routine.

Plan healthy meals for the day, take a walk or stretch. Put your phone away. Memorize a bible verse. ” Lord you are my strength, I refuse every distraction set to drain me or pull me away from you”

Fix your thoughts: I will fix my thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. I will think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. PHil 4:8

Put on a timer and spend quiet time with the Lord reading scripture, meditating on His word, singing praises or diving deep into scripture.

Afternoon: Be aware of distractions and temptations, prayerfully ask God for help with self discipline and temptations that may come your way. Remember to guard your heart – be careful of the things you see, you hear and say. Let your heart always praise him

Remind yourself that God has not given you a spirit of fear but of power love and of sound mind that’s in second Timothy 1: 7 I will remind myself not to fear for the Lord is with me I will not be dismayed for he is my God he will strengthen me and help me he will uphold me with his righteous right hand Isaiah 41: 10

Change your music to praise, listen to the audio bible on the way to and from work. What else do you need to change?

Evening: Ask God to help you replace mindless screen time, tv, youtubes, gaming. Ask the Lord to give you a heart for Him and a desire to read His word, Ask Him to help you with your prayer time. Do not allow yourself to fill your mind with wickedness. Ask Him to take away all wrong desires. End your day with three things you saw God do today, ask Him to search your heart for any ways that are not pleasing to Him. Where do I need grace? Shut your phone down early.

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord make me dwell in safety. Lord, restore my strength and give me discerning eyes to see and understand the enemy’s schemes tomorrow and remind me daily.

Lord, I stand on your promise in Isaiah 41:10 that I should not fear because you are with me let your strength replace fear in my heart

Lord, Preserve my life from fear of the enemy and hide me from the secret plots of the wicked Ps 64

  1. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. Peter 5 8-9
  2. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.  Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15
  3.  Parable of the seeds – notice how he tries to choke out at the neck so the words don’t get in the heart, to distract with worldly things, cares of life, worry, money.
  4. He is the accuser of the Brethren, the father of all liars
  5. There are principalities, rulers, powers and hosts of wicked rulers and spirutal hosts of wickedness in heavenly places
  6. He comes to steal , kill and destroy John 10 10
  7. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand Eph 6:11 -13
  8.  Don’t be ignorant of his schemes and devices  : 2 cor 2  lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

They shoot in secret at the blameless they talk of laying snares secretly . They think no one sees them. “ WE have perfected a shrewd scheme” Both the inward thought and heart of man are deep Psalm 64:1-10 talks of man yet I saw it in the spirit

The enemy works with slow subtle hidden erosion. You can counter it with intentional actions and alignment in God’s word. You are never alone, He fights your battles for you but you also must take action and use the wisdom God has given you and His Word. Prepare for tomorrow, don’t start your day unprepared.
