Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt: And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger Is 13:6-9
Earlier this year, as I lay awake in the night, I saw a scene play out before my eyes. As if I were there, I could see a panoramic view of another land. I was not familiar with this place, the men dressed differently and the street and the people were in a place or land I was not familiar with-I knew it wasn’t America. I briefly mentioned this in a post a while ago, but today, the remembrance of it weighs heavily on me. I don’t know why, but it has been in my thoughts all day.
“And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth”
In the vision, I saw men standing, scattered throughout the streets. In front of me was one man in particular who stood closest to my view. I watched him and all the other men that were walking up and down the streets. Everyone was going his own usually way. Everything seemed fine…….. but suddenly I saw great terror griped everyman’s heart – a fainting, a trembling. They looked up and saw the Lord before them, they were so suddenly afraid. Without a word, only their sight, they knew it was the Lord and they were in terrible fear. The Lord was coming towards them (it seemed as if He was coming from the east) and each man was frantic as if they knew terror was ahead. Each one ran here and there, but had no where to escape. There was great fear and great chaos on the streets as men ran frantically away from the Wrath of the Lord. The vision startled me, there was so much fear! They absolutely knew the Lord was before them and they were instantly convicted and knew they should fear.
At the end of the vision, I saw the men as they stood in fear. They were frozen, staring, looking up, trembling – there was no place to hide, nowhere to turn. Their hearts melted in terror.
I wasn’t familiar with the clothing I had seen them wearing, nor the caps. The caps that I saw seemed to have a lot of colors woven in them. The caps or hats I saw looked similar to those in the picture above. The man in front of me in the vision had a colorful cap (tagiya-is the name, I later found out) with different colors running vertically. I’m pretty sure I saw them wearing robe like outfits, but I am not sure. The caps or Tagiya I saw stood out clearly to me because I had never seen them before.
Determined to find out more, I searched out the clothing I had just seen. The caps I saw are called tagiya, a cap worn by Muslim men/ as someone who adheres to Islam.Today the taqiyah still serves, amongst other things, as a form of religious uniform, to identify oneself to the rest of the world as somebody who adheres to Islam. Taqiyah is a short, rounded cap worn by some observant Muslim men. Muslims wear the taqiyah to emulate Muhammad. The companions of Muhammad were never seen without their heads being covered. The taqiyah is also called a ‘prayer cap’ in English. Some Muslims wear the taqiyah during Jumu’ah prayers at the mosque, and during daily salat (prayers) at home. For men, it is mustahabb, which means ‘commendable‘ or ‘seeking the love of God’, to cover the head during prayer. Some Muslims use a prayer mat during praying. Muslim men might wear a taqiyah during weddings -from Wikipedia
This picture is similar to what I saw. However, the street was wide and there were crossroads. I saw hundreds and hundreds of men wearing these caps as they began to scatter and run in fear- running to and fro- no where in particular because they didn’t know which way to run, there was no place to hide.
What is the Day of the Lord?
For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures. And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ? Is 2:12-22
Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man’s heart shall melt: And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Is 13:6-9
For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord God of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates Jer 46:10
The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.7 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land. Zephaniah 1:14-18
Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord’s anger come upon you. Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger. Zephaniah 2:2-3
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. Malachi 4″4-5
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness . Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.2 Peter 3:11-18 (I think that was a warning that we can fall away from our salvation-despite what many teachers try to tell you)
4-2012(I wrote this when I saw it)
I saw a great commotion among the people,
but not here
I saw a crowd of people in great terror
I saw men run in fear to their left
but they found they could not escape
I saw them turn and run to the right
Searching for a hiding place
but again there was no place to hide
they were without refuge and without safety
and had nowhere to turn.
I saw as I stood behind a great crowd of men
At the end they stood frozen in fear
Looking up, trembling- they had
nowhere to go, nowhere to turn
their hearts melted as they visibly saw
the indescribable power of the Lord.
Pray for all those who are lost. Live right so you will be light to them. All things are possible through Him and we know that each day is a sign of His patience…one more day, one more minute He waits for the lost to come back. Come back! Turn around! For the Lord your God is calling you. Repent of your wicked ways and Seek Him- You will surely find Him. Jesus is the only way to the Father. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
Treat everyone with the Love of Jesus.
