Jacob’s/ Israel’s eternal blessing

Leave a comment Standard

In my previous post ” Jacob’s troubles , “all my days have been few and evil” I mentioned some of the great afflictions and troubles that Jacob lived through, HOWEVER – that wasn’t the end. You see, God had eternity planned for Jacob- and He has eternity planned for you. This life isn’t the end.  We are merely pilgrims passing through, this isn’t our home. Everything we see will one day disappear and all that is unseen will remain.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 8:11 that many will come from the east and west and sit down with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

What does this mean? It means Jacob, (also according to Matthew 22:32) – is living , for God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – He is God of the living, not the dead

These are great mysteries that we cannot see yet.

Consider the parable of Lazarus and the beggar, when they both died, Abraham was there and alive. He spoke and reasoned with Lazarus after they died. Also on the Mount of Transfiguration, Moses and Elijah both appeared to Jesus and the 3 disciples. Those who die on earth are not gone forever. They have completed this race, the walk we have on earth.

Many preachers will tell you that something is wrong with  you or your faith if you experience trials and troubles here and earth – and surely we reap what we sow, but if we study scriptures, we will discover that many great men and women suffered much for the kingdom of God. Remember , in all you are going through,  that we look up to God and keep our eyes and thoughts focused on our great hope that lies ahead. God has prepared a place for us, a place where there are no more tears, no more pain, not more death. Keep your eyes fixed on Him and His Son Jesus.

There is one more interesting thing I wanted to mention about Jacob’s life. I believe there are many mysteries wrapped up in the story of Jacob, renamed Israel. Could his story represent the people of Israel and the Son ?

Israel’s son (Joseph), the one who was to save him and the family, was gone from their sight. Israel didn’t believe. They couldn’t see him even though he was  there. When they finally found him in the end, their was joy, repentance (?),  and sorrow for what they had done. The son forgave them, restored them, embraced them and saved them.

This verse from Zechariah 12:10-13:1 comes into my mind as I think of Israel and his son: It is almost exactly the same:

 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.  In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of Shimei by itself, and their wives by themselves;  all the families that remain, every family by itself, and their wives by themselves.In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness

This verse in Zechariah tells us that there was one. like a son, who was hurt, pierced, like an only son- firstborn (like Joseph)….. their will be mourning (just like Joseph and his brothers) then there will be a great act of forgiveness to cleanse them from their wrongs.

Doesn’t that sound like Jesus, the son, and the Jewish people? We are told that many can’t see or understand this, they have a veil over them- but in Zechariah and Revelation, we learn that this same act that Joseph did for his brothers, will again be done for Israel’s sons.

I am poured out like water,
And all My bones are out of joint;
My heart is like wax;
It has melted within Me.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
And My tongue clings to My jaws;
You have brought Me to the dust of death.Ps 22:16

Forgiveness: make allowance for each other’s faults Colossians 3

Comments 7 Standard

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13

This song has been chasing me around all week.  Everytime someone has really got me mad or upset, suddenly this song is playing…and it’s one of those songs that stays in your head forever! It’s driving me crazy! I can’t stay mad, the song convicts me until I’ve completely forgiven the person. All my plots of sweet revenge have been smothered out.

 If we want the Lord to forgive our sins, we must forgive others:

 But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.Mark 11:25

       I remember the strength of the Lord Jesus. He walked in silence as His accusers lied about him, accused Him, and said horrible things about Him. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing “. Could you have walked that walk with love?  Isaiah describes that moment:

He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
    and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
    so he did not open his mouth.
 By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
    Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
    for the transgression of my people he was punished Isaiah 53;7

Luke 23 records that moment: The crowd watched and the leaders scoffed. “He saved others,” they said, “let him save himself if he is really God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”  The soldiers mocked him, too, by offering him a drink of sour wine.  They called out to him, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”  A sign was fastened above him with these words: “This is the King of the Jews.” One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it  Luke 23

   I’m going to honest with you…I don’t always want to forgive. I sometimes want revenge and other times I think I just want to be mad a little bit longer and then I’ll forgive. I’ve gotten better, but I still run into situations/ people that disturb me. I’ve noticed the Lord’s blessings in my life for all the times I’ve forgiven. The Lord blesses me when I forgive and keep peace.

God Chose you to be Holy – so we need to act like it

       Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tender-hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.  And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:12-15

 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32

And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. Mark 26:27

70 x 70
Sometimes we need forgive the same thing a million
times:
(you know when you forgive someone from your heart, and it pops back in again… we have to forgive again….oh here it comes again…. forgive again and again and again until you know you have completely forgiven that person- and it’s more than lip service – God checks your heart. You can’t sneak out of this one)

Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!

Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. 24 In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars. He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt.
     “But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’ 27 Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt.
   Jesus taught us this parable on Forgiveness: “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment.
  “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. 30 But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.
      31 “When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. 32 Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. 33 Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’ 34 Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt.  “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.”

   Okay TWO things in this parable are really important!

  1. We have to forgive from our heart- just saying it without a heart change is worthless
  2. This says if we don’t forgive, we aren’t forgiven. That scares me. I saw another verse that says unforgiveness can interfere with healing. We need to ask the Lord to search our hearts for unforgiveness, I may have a few things hidden in there that I’m not aware of. 😦

Revenge belongs to the Lord
Proverbs 20:22 Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the Lord to handle the matter

Love your enemies

 “But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you.  Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also.  Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back. 31 Do to others as you would like them to do to you.  If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!  And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!  And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return.
          “Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. 36 You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.

 “If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive.  Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive Luke 17

Reality Check: Sometimes I have hurt others 😦 Say your Sorry!
Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,  leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23

Remember what Jesus did for you

It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.Luke 24:47

I am writing to you who are God’s children because your sins have been forgiven through Jesus. 1 John 2:12

 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.  But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.  If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts 1 John 1:9

  For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals. Hebrew 9: 21-23

For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:15

He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases Psalm 103:3

More lessons the Lord has taught me on this: God wants us to live in unity – the Power of unity ,  Unity- can’t we all just get along? and a vision the Lord gave me as I struggled to forgive : Don’t let the sun go down on your anger and wearing the shoes of peace

 ” In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.  We have been beaten, been put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food.  We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love. We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense.  We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us impostors.  We are ignored, even though we are well known. We live close to death, but we are still alive. We have been beaten, but we have not been killed.  Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.Related articles 2 Cor 6:5-

Sometimes I can be

          I’m not proud of it, I don’t want to act that way, but I do.  I’m not always like that, but I have had moments of unholiness. I’ve sat sulking sometimes for days with things I’ve done and said.  If we sin, we need to repent from our heart and make things right. Say sorry if you have offended anyone, do everything you can to make peace-yes, even if you are right and they are wrong.

Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero?
    Why do you boast all day long,
    you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
You who practice deceit,
    your tongue plots destruction;
    it is like a sharpened razor.
You love evil rather than good,
    falsehood rather than speaking the truth.
 You love every harmful word,
    you deceitful tongue! Ps 52
(I cannot number the amount of times I have accidentally opened up this verse after I just finished fighting with someone- it scared me! Changing to be perfect doesn’t happen overnight. I’m a work in progress)

            God wants us to Forgive others, repent of our sins and be peacemakers. I had to say I was sorry and I didn’t want to. I still cringe at the thought of it, humbling, but how great it is to be obedient. If you’ve done something wrong:stop sulking!!!!! dust yourself off, get back on track and keep going.  It’s okay to have a time of repentance and reflection- but I wonder if sometimes we make it last a lot longer than it should.

   Our instructions: to prove our repentance by the way we live and to strengthen ourselves and go on.

  • Acts 13:38“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins.
    We know He forgives us- do we need to go back to the basics again? When will we really understand and believe- that the Lord Jesus is our Mediator, He pleads for us, He took our punishment that we deserved upon that cross. He made a way when there was no way. He opened the door for us and has us seated in heavenly places before the Lord God- to whom our spirits cry “Abba, Abba”

              Sometimes I feel like God says- LISA- get off the sulking boat in your sin, repent, make things right. What good am I to God’s kingdom if I hide from God and everyone else. How can I encourage and lift up those around me if I want to hide from God. I need to make things right, repent, change, prove it, and strengthen myself in the Lord .
Fix your thoughts.
Here’s my thought test :
Is it true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy?   These are the things that should be consuming my mind.

Have you forgotten Him?Have you fallen away from the Lord?  There is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!Repent, all of you who forget me, or I will tear you apart, and no one will help you.Psalm 50:21-23 , Luke 15:7

Wrong thoughts?   ” Repent of your wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive your evil thoughts, for I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are held captive by sin.”
       A few years ago I asked God for discernment about thoughts, and a few days later He showed me: I saw thoughts from the enemy- as if they were darts and they were thrown into my mind. With the discernment the Lord gave me, I knew they were horrible lies, wrong thoughts, and I remember one specifically that wanted me to think God didn’t love me anymore. I stopped them right at the door and refused to acknowledge or think on these things. Proof: Eph 6:16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.  Stop wrong thoughts and mindsets and fix your thoughts on what is true (Phil 4:8) If you’ve got wrong thoughts – fix them. Sin wants to master you, but you must master sin.

UH-OOOOOO: Check out this verse- playing stupid doesn’t work:
Proverbs 24:12 Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve.

Your words – be careful we are accountable for everything we say
Where you go -You know what- I was about to get my nails done the other day and as I walked into the nail salon I saw the Buddha with an offering table and apples given the idols. In my spirit I kept hearing Psalms 4:23 about guarding your heart: Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.  Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked;keep your feet from following evil. I never thought of that before, but I’ve decided to guard my heart and I’m not taking any chances. Maybe you don’t agree- but this is how I am guided,  I don’t condemn others.  It’s about my obedience to the Lord and what he commands me to do- not about making everyone happy around me.

Your Actions– “he did not scream or shout”- Oh dear, this is a spear in my side.(For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.)  Let’s just say that the Lord spoke to me through Isaiah 42:2 and when I tried to run away from it I turned the page to Matthew 12:19 (which was the exact same thing!)

He will not fight or shout
    or raise his voice in public.
20 He will not crush the weakest reed
    or put out a flickering candle.
    Finally he will cause justice to be victorious

How do you treat others? Are my conversations full of gossip and judging others? Am I encouraging or discouraging others with my words? What are my true motives in my heart for the things I do?

 Paul had the same struggle:

          So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin.  I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
                And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
         I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.  I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. 24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

DOES THIS MEAN I CAN KEEP ON SINNING? OF COURSE NOT!

          When I first started going to bible studies years ago, the teachers and leaders seemed to carry this invisible tag on them “I am perfect”. To reach their position in the church or group seemed impossible in their perfection, but as the years have gone by I’ve realized that isn’t the case with anyone. I found out I’m not the only Christian that has had a slip up with my words, my actions and my thoughts. Just yesterday I was really close to dropping a bomb word- but I’m thankful I stopped it before it rolled out.
     I’m sure there are some super sister Christians out there who would look down at me for that, but that’s just one of the things I struggle with. Surely I’ve got some boulders in my own eyes that I’m working on. I just thought you should know that if you have sinned, then repent, ask the Lord to forgive you and ask for his help in dealing with whatever it is you are dealing with.

Why so downcast, Oh my soul? Put your hope in God

          I am a work in progress, and I know the Lord is changing me day by day. Changing my mindsets, my thoughts, my words, my music, my television shows, the books I read, getting out of the world -this takes time-and maybe even some struggles. We don’t supernaturally become perfect the day we ask Jesus in our lives. He helps us. You can be sure of this- that He who started a good work in you will finish it until the end.
     One morning I was really down in the dumps because I had said a horrible thing to my husband in anger as he left for work. I felt horrible. How could I say that if I was a Christian, a bible reader, a proclaimer of Christ? I struggled all morning wondering about myself and felt unworthy to even go to the Lord. I turned on the t.v. and there was Kay Arthur. She was telling the audience that she had just said a horrible word to her husband and felt awful and how she repented. Hearing those words and realizing I wasn’t alone encouraged me. I repented, said I was sorry and continued on without looking back.  Her confession helped me. I wonder if that is why the bible says to confess our sins to one another. I know it doesn’t say “act all holier than everyone else”.

CONFESS YOUR SINS

  • Joshua 7:19Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the LORD, the God of Israel, by telling the truth. Make your confession and tell me what you have done. Don’t hide it from me.”
  • Psalm 32:3When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.
  • Psalm 66:18
    If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
  • Jeremiah 3:13
    Only acknowledge your guilt. Admit that you rebelled against the LORD your God and committed adultery against him by worshiping idols under every green tree. Confess that you refused to listen to my voice. I, the LORD, have spoken!
  • Daniel 9:20
    [ Gabriel’s Message about the Anointed One ] I went on praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people, pleading with the LORD my God for Jerusalem, his holy mountain.
  • James 5:16
    Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
  • 1 John 1:9
    But if we confessour sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. Chapter)
  • Hosea 14:2
    Bring your confessions, and return to the LORD. Say to him, “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you our praises.

    Just this past weekend I was spit fire mad- and at what? I don’t know…. I spent all day wondering, pondering and wasting my time about why I was feeling this way. I opened up God’s Word and I was completely set free. God’s Word can change our situations and our false mindsets. Listen to His Words. You will find life and healing in them.So run the race, my friends. Dust yourself off and keep on going. We all fall short- and sometimes it’s all day- but each minute is new, each day is new and we hold on to the Word and listen to His instructions.

    Consider Peter: a disciple and friend of Jesus . He denied Jesus three times. I probably would have ran away thinking I was unworthy ,but Jesus is merciful. Peter was the Rock on which the church was built!  I just finished a study on David and I was amazed at His relationship with God, his Father. David’s life was full of sins, wrongs, mistakes – yet he had a heart and a love for the Lord and the Lord loved Him and forgave him.  David wasn’t perfect, but we read his prayers of repentance and his desire to have right standing with God. David saw God as his Father, Abba, Abba, he would cry out to the Lord every day. Let’s think about some things: Abraham lied and said his wife was his sister, Jacob tricked his father and mother, Moses killed a man, Joseph’s brothers lied to their father and sold their brother, David disobeyed, murdered, and committed adultery, the bible is full of stories about people just like me and you.
               My message to you is to stop sulking in your wrong doings and stand up and run this race for Christ. Prove your repentant heart with the way you live.The kingdom needs you.
                My other message is for the super Christians to get real and stop pretending you are so perfect. Does that attitude really attract people to God’s kingdom?  I don’t want to go the Wedding feast alone, I want it to be full of God’s children. I want them to know how much God loves them, not how much better I am than they are.  Sure, I can put on my super sister christian act and really fool you if I wanted to, but I think it’s best to let you know that we all have downfalls.  I’ve gotten much better, but I still have moments where I fall.

           I’m sure a few out there are ready to cast some stones here, but I really don’t care . Throw them, not one of them will hit me, they may bounce back at you, but I know who I am in Christ. He came for those of us who knew we were lost and sinners, not for the self-righteous.

Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.

 Surely I was sinful at birth,sinful from the time
             my mother conceived me.

Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
    you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
so that sinners will turn back to you.
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
you who are God my Savior,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
Open my lips, Lord,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
My sacrifice, O God, is[b] a broken spirit;
    a broken and contrite heart
    you, God, will not despise.

Don’t let the sun go down on your Anger Ephesians 4:26

Comments 5 Standard

Tremble with fear and stop sinning;
think deeply about this,
when you lie in silence on your beds. Ps 4:4

           One night I was furiously mad at something.  I was trying desperately to forgive so I could go to sleep. I tried and tried on my own- but I was still ANGRY! God showed me something supernatural that night as I lay awake-but before he showed me this… I kept reciting and remembering the following passages as I tossed and turned late into the night:

    In your anger do not sin” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,  for anger gives a foothold to the devil. But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. ’ Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  Col 3 :13 Eph 4:26 Matt 5:22 James 1:20
( This was easy to remember, recite and ponder on- but why was my anger still raging within me? Why did I keep forgiving, but needed to do so every second as it entered my mind again?)

REVENGE IS NOT MINE

  To be truthful, I wanted revenge, I know, it’s horrible- but I did! How could this be? me? a christian? a student of the word? One who claimed to “Love the Lord” and to always walk in obedience.

 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jer 17:9

         Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD. Romans 12:19 Lev 19:8

GOD HAS FORGIVEN ME- I NEED TO FORGIVE OTHERS

   I tried to remember all God had forgiven me.
    Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive. Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. luke 6:27,Eph 4:32, John 20:23

   As I night went on I prayed out to God, ” O Lord, help me forgive this person- let me not seek revenge. Clean out my heart O, Lord and renew a right spirit within me. This is just to hard for me, I don’t want to forgive, but I know I have to, help me, help me Lord- don’t let me fall asleep angry. Help me forgive”

I SAW JESUS ON THE CROSS

    At that moment I closed my eyes and I saw a cross. I opened my eyes in shock, what was that? I closed my eyes again and saw Jesus on the cross. I was scared and opened my eyes again, so I wouldn’t see. I closed them again and saw more. It was as if I was there at the time Jesus died. I could see a panoramic view of everything as if I were standing to the left of the cross.

I looked and saw the sky dark like night and a huge dark cloud coming behind the cross moving across the sky as the land got darker and darker. On the cross, the Lord had died- his head hung down to his left and his body limp. I opened my eyes again and when I closed them I saw a man go up to the cross, he was bald and in my spirit I immediately knew that this man approaching the cross loved Him. The nails in the hand were taken out first. The body of Jesus lay over this man’s head as the nails in the feet still had not been taken out.

1st- I saw only the cross with dark skies, then the cross with Jesus, bottom right of picture shows the man taking Jesus down from cross and to the bottom left is what it looked like when they took Jesus wrapped and carried him away.

    The next thing I saw -as if I were hoovering above him- I saw the Lord’s face and I looked down and His body was wrapped in a white garment- but not His face because I could see Him. He was in a wooden box so they could carry Him- but the box had no covering. The sky was still dark as the men and the man who loved Him carried Him off.  The last vision I saw was Jesus’ body being carried off by the man who loved Him and with about 5-6 other men- 3 on one side of the box and 3 on the other side and the land was dark.

(As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus.  Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth Mt 27:57)

        Do I understand what my God did for me? I’m crushed in my spirit and broken for my selfish ways as I think on what Jesus did for me. “Jesus said, Forgive them, Father! They don’t know what they are doing.” He forgave those that hurt him, killed him, mocked Him and He was God, surely I can forgive someone who has hurt me. I was created to be like Him and that I will strive to do.

 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
